Warning: General Spoilers Ahead
Tis the season for some really strange blood tie reveals. First, we had the Sasha and Elena father/daughter bombshell in the premiere episode. And, then, last week we learn that Konstantin is a little more than Roman’s 2nd-in-command and is actually his son. Whew! Well, the plot thickens this week with even more surprising blood relationships, and so, hold onto the rails, folks, because it’s going to be a hell of a ride.
The one big question that has been hanging over us since the beginning of the season is what possibly could be so big, so terrible that Roman would hold a vendetta against Sasha and his family for over 30 years. Well, we finally get the answer this week, and it’s a humdinger. And, it goes back to those weird blood ties, and so much so, that if you think about it, you’ll give yourself a migraine. I don’t want to spill the whole thing, but here’s a hint. Remember what Sasha said about Elena’s mother, about her dying, and then, Roman killing Katia and Alexi’s mother brutally and in front of them. Let’s just say that there’s a common link between Roman and Sasha, and it has to do with Elena’s mother. Trust me, it’s very surprising and very unexpected.
Given that this is likely the show’s final season, it appears that the writers have decided to bring back some friendly faces as a final good-bye before the series’ end. It began with Joey Stillwell (Elias Toufexis) in the season premiere, but unfortunately his stay is cut short after being quickly killed by Eduardo’s crew. It continues this week with a character that we haven’t seen since season 1, Sheriff Karen Morgan (guest star Fiona Highet). However, we quickly learn that she’s no longer Sheriff by her own choice after she runs into Jeremy in town while he’s gathering supplies to make more bodies disappear at Stonehaven. She’s friendly, of course (and, it’s also obvious that there’s still a strong romantic interest between the two), but she can’t shake why Jeremy may have bags of cement, a shovel, an ax and gloves in the back of his car. So, unable to put the Sheriff in her at rest, she decides to investigate.
Well, again, I don’t want to spill it all, but I can say that her investigation doesn’t go very well at all. She has no idea what she’s gotten herself into and ends up in the middle of a huge showdown with Jeremy, Roman and Sasha. And, to top it off, Alexi has his first change, which throws a wrench into an already-complicated situation.
The big question is will Karen see too much? And, if so, will Jeremy honor the very words he said to Roman about any human who knows about their kind must die? Those are easy words if you’re not emotionally-involved in the situation, but as we know, that won’t be the case with Karen.
Episode 3.04 of Bitten is titled “A Quiet Dog” and airs Monday at 11/10c on Syfy.
