Last week was one rough episode of Z Nation to say the least. We had just lost Mack and now Cassandra? What a total buzzkill! Needless to say, I think the fandom is in desperate need of a lift, and ironically, Friday’s episode is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Yeah, yeah, I know this series is technically about a zombie apocalypse, but at the end of the day, it can easily be labelled a comedy. I mean, where else are you going see things like a half-man, half-zombie do the deed with a crazy blonde chic who sports blueberry pie and then, goes on to father a half-breed zombie baby. Uh huh. Well, if you love that kind of humor as much as I do, then you’ll love this episode because it’s definitely one of the funniest of the series thus far.
And, can you take a wild guess who is back and serves as THE comic relief in the episode? Yes, it’s our fan-favorites Sketchy and Skeezy! I love these guys, and everything they said in season 1 made me laugh; so, naturally I was beyond thrilled when I learned they would be returning.
Of course, while Sketchy and Skeezy are a laugh a minute, you should also recall that wherever these guys go, trouble’s not far behind. Our group of survivors crosses paths with the duo on a riverboat trip to California gone bad, and 10K (Nat Zang) ends up with the 2 goof-balls when he gets separated from the group. And, in a very short period of time, Sketchy and Skeezy manage to get a group of marauders after their asses, as well as Escorpian (Emilio Rivera) and his gang for ripping the guy off. At the same time, 10K is just at the wrong place at the wrong time, and appears to be going down with these guys for crimes he had no part of.
While this is all playing out, Warren and Co. are desperately looking for 10K but are ready to give up because “the mission” is more important than all else. Well everybody except 1 person — Doc (Russell Hodgkinson). We all know how much Doc loves the kid, and there’s no way he’d leave him behind. But, will Doc get to 10K in time? Or, will Escorpian have has way and get his pound of flesh by executing 10K along with his “partners in crime,” Sketchy and Skeezy? Be sure to tune in tomorrow night and find out!
