Warning: Spoilers Ahead
Okay, a moment of truth here. I’ve always been a huge fan of The Good Wife, but because of my workload over the past few months, I haven’t watched an episode since the season 6 finale — that is, until it was announced that Jeffrey Dean Morgan had been cast as baddie Negan on AMC’s The Walking Dead. To everyone’s surprise, while I had heard of Morgan, I had never seen him in anything, so when I heard that he was a series regular for season 7 of The Good Wife, I just had to take a look. I watched the season 7 premiere and then 7.02 where Morgan’s character, Jason Crouse, was introduced, and from that point on, I’ve been hooked. How in the hell did I miss this guy all these years! What an amazing actor and what a fantastic addition to an already great series. Whoever made this casting decision deserves a gold star and a serious raise.
Ever since the day Jason met Alicia in “Innocents,” there have been a sexual chemistry and tension between these two that is so obvious it could slap you in the face. As of now, I don’t think the question is **if** they will end up in bed but **when**. However, other people are starting to notice their apparent flirting, and so, they may hit a speed bump or two fairly soon.
In Sunday’s episode, the very unlikely couple catches the glaring eye of Eli, and he’s hell-bent on making sure that Alicia’s indiscretions don’t sabotage Peter’s bid for the Presidency. Do we think that will actually work? Well, of course not. Alicia is her own person now, and if anything, it will only push her to do the deed with Jason even sooner. And, I, for one, can’t wait.
Episode 7.09 of The Good Wife is titled “Discovery” and airs Sunday at 9/8c on CBS.
