Last week, after boozing, going cold turkey, and then boozing ‘n’ doozing once again, Johnny is finally able to crank out some tunes for his daughter’s big debut. This all continues into tomorrow’s episode with Gigi and the band booking their first major gig.
But, as we all would guess, things don’t go quite as planned on the big day. First, Johnny Rock is dead. Really? No, not really! But, someone sure thinks (or maybe hopes!) he’s dead, because a rumor that Johnny choked on a chicken bone (yes, chicken bone, folks) begins spreading like wildfire on the Internet. Of course, Johnny thinks the entire situation sucks — his agent, not so much, and convinces Johnny to play along with the hoax for just a few days. What notoriety Johnny missed back in the day he was about to make up for 10 times over, with the sale of the Heathens’ album and singles skyrocketing.
In the meantime, Gigi prepares for her big night and hits it completely out of the park. Even rock legend Joan Jett shows up for the event, encouraging the very-nervous Gigi but also debunking Johnny’s big claim that he had banged Joan way-back-when. Poor, poor Johnny. At least Gigi’s night ends well.
Episode 1.03 of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll is titled “Lust For Life” and airs Thursday night at 10/9c on FX.
