Warning: Spoilers Ahead
The intensity gets turned up to a whole new level tonight as Sarah’s obsession on finding a way to get the implant out her face grows. One thing that I would think Sarah has learned over the past 3+ seasons is to trust the people you know. Cosima and Scott (Josh Vokey) have been working hard analyzing the bot once they finally were able to remove it from Leekie’s rotting corpse, and by the end of the hour, have figured out what its purpose is. But, they don’t seem to be moving fast enough for Sarah because her impatience causes her to turn to M.K. for help when she doesn’t really know who this girl is. This turns out to be a mistake.
M.K. ends up betraying Sarah, and as part of this, we finally get her backstory and what her true motivations are. What’s driving this girl turns out to be a deep-seated hatred and a lust for revenge for the murder by Dyad of her best friend (and also another one of the Leda clones), Nikki. Thanks to Sarah, she learns who actually committed the murder and begins acting out the revenge fantasy that had been going through her mind for years. Yes, everyone, as you probably can guess, one of our characters is in danger, and it’s up to Sarah and Dizzy (Joel Thomas Hynes) to track down M.K. and stop her from following through on her plan.
In the meantime, Alison learns by accident that Beth visited not only Club Neolution but also a fertility clinic by the name of Lifespring Fertility. Now, how in the hell does this fit into the puzzle? Besides trying to perfect humans through Neolution, is Dyad also trying to create the perfect baby artificial insemination? To find out, Felix (Jordan Gavaris) and Donnie (Kristian Bruun) go in as a prospective “couple” and to Donnie’s dismay, this also includes each of them having to leave a sperm sample. Too bad that the nurse thinks Donnie is really gay because all she leaves him with is gay porn. So, once again he has to turn to Alison, and here we have yet another classic Alison and Donnie scene, and to be honest, I think this is probably the best one to date. Let’s just say Alison is pretty good at fantasies depicting sex with a Hispanic hottie in an airplane lavatory. Ask Donnie — he can definitely appreciate it.
Episode 4.04 of Orphan Black is titled “From Instinct To Rational Control” and airs tonight at 10/9c on BBC.
