Warning: General spoilers ahead
As we head into the season 17 finale of Law & Order: SVU tomorrow, I can’t help but be nervous as hell. Over the past few seasons, ADA Barba (Raul Esparza) has quickly become my favorite character on the show, and has actually become my favorite ADA in the entire “Law & Order” franchise, even surpassing Sam Waterston’s Jack McCoy from way back in the day. So, as you can imagine, I nearly freaked out last week when Barba’s life had been threatened for simply doing his job and prosecuting serial rapist, corrections officer Gary Munson (guest star Brad Garrett). And, he’s not out of the woods yet as it seems the threatening will continue into tomorrow’s season finale.
However, another character appears to be in even greater danger. As we can see from the video clips below, Munson gets violent when his wife finally opens her eyes and decides to leave her monster of a husband. Unfortunately, it seems Sgt. Dodds (Andy Karl) gets caught in the cross-hairs and ends up fighting for his life from a gunshot wound. Will we lose the newest member of the SVU squad (and a character that has quickly become a fan-favorite)? We may recall that Dodds has already been shot once this season in the Chicago P.D. crossover episode “Nationwide Manhunt,” and so, he’s definitely a tough son-of-a-bitch. However, that doesn’t mean he’s invincible, and if the below Promo is any indicator, his luck just may have run out.
The season 17 finale of Law & Order: SVU is titled “Heartfelt Passages” and airs Wednesday at 9/8c on NBC.
