Warning: Spoilers Ahead
Last week, we saw the end result of Drill’s efforts through the tasks completed by the children. We can’t be sure exactly what Wes unearthed, but it’s some kind of massive energy and heart source that lay hidden under the fulgurite in the Mali desert. Ironically, if you think about it, this was all accomplished without anyone getting hurt (well, except for that poor therapist in the hit-and-run). Yes, Drill manipulated Harper into causing the treehouse accident that nearly killed her Mom, but he also cured her. Yes, Drill put us on the verge of a nuclear meltdown, but he also stopped it once his mission was complete, and everybody miraculously walked away unscathed. Given that, what could possibly be Drill’s plan? Is he even a malevolent entity?
Official Synopsis from ABC: “An astonishing breakthrough is made about Drill while Claire gathers together and talks to a group of children who have been contacted by it, and Wes makes a chilling discovery about Drill’s possible mission.”
So far, Drill has been nothing but nice to the children, but what do you think he will do now that they have turned against him and are working with Claire and the authorities? Think about that therapist. Somehow I don’t think this meet-up with the children is going to end well.
