Warning: Spoilers Ahead
Truth be told here, Dallas Roberts will always be sweet, awkward Milton Mamet from The Walking Dead to me. But, every now and then, he pops back into SVU , and I’m reminded that he’s also the psychopathic serial killer, Gregory Yates, whom we were introduced to in the season three Chicago Fire episode “We Called Her JellyBean.” Of course, being able to believably portray 2 polar opposite characters is a testament of the talent of the actor, and so, as horrific as Yates may be, I’m always happy to see Roberts on the small screen.
Well, ever since that pivotal scene earlier in the season where we learn that Yates and fellow homicidal surgeon, Dr. Rudnick, are in cahoots, it was just a matter of time before the duo figured a way out of prison to continue their murderous sprees, just like the old days. As it turns out, it didn’t take that long because Yates and Rudnick make an escape in tomorrow’s SVU , putting the squad on a massive, cross-country search.
Episode 17.14 of Law & Order: SVU is titled “Nationwide Manhunt” and airs Wednesday at 9/8c on NBC. This is the first installment of a 2-way crossover, with the conclusion airing with Chicago P.D. immediately after.
