Screeners for the next Sunday’s mid-season finale of Fear The Walking Dead will be going out to members of the Press later this week, and in the past, I would wait patiently and then, perhaps watch the episode the day after receiving the email. And, I most certainly wouldn’t pay too much attention to promos. Well, that has completely changed with season 3, and I find myself more excited for Sunday’s mid-season ender than I have been lately about The Walking Dead. No joke. Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who is an avid reader of the Walking Dead comics and never thought that a spin-off/companion series could ever top Robert Kirkman’s original vision. It looks like I may have been wrong, and to be honest, I haven’t been happier my entire life to learn that I was wrong.
So, breaking with tradition, I decided not to wait for the press screeners and instead, took a peek at the promo photos and plucked apart the sneak peek videos released thus far. If you thought the season 7 finale of The Walking Dead was intense with its laying the foundation for the “All Out War” arc from the comics, just you wait until Sunday because Fear may end up topping that. Check out the below promo and sneak peeks and judge for yourself.
Oh, if you had read my reviews of the last couple of episodes, you know that I had speculated that Ofelia was now part of Walker’s group and that would likely be revealed in the mid-season finale. Well, if you have a keen eye, you should be able to spot her in the promo. What’s more, it appears that her face is scarred, or possibly bruised.
Also, if you look closely, there are several other goodies in the promo alone, like at least 2 of Troy’s militiamen appearing as walkers and attacking others from the ranch. Needless to say, this is going to be one intense 2-hour rollercoaster ride. My guess, Jack Daniels will be in order.
I’ll be posting my usual Advance Preview later in the week, but in the meantime, enjoy the promos and let the speculation begin!
The 2-hour mid-season finale of Fear The Walking Dead is titled “The Unveiling/Children Of Wrath” and airs Sunday starting at 9/8c on AMC.
