Warning: General spoilers ahead
At the end of last week’s episode, we witnessed just how far Will Bowman (Josh Holloway) has come since his days as a “suit” working for the bureau. His former partner, Devon (guest-star Carolyn Michelle Smith) may have thought he’d be conflicted about causing that school teacher to be sent to the Factory, but little did she know that he would have no qualms about killing a man with his bare hands to protect his son.
Will and Charlie’s (Jacob Buster) journey continues in tomorrow’s episode with the new challenge being how to get back to the Los Angeles Bloc now that Will no longer has the transmit pass that got him to Santa Monica in the first place. Will and Devon are out of ideas, but fortunately, Charlie has one that he often heard about while living on the streets for the past year. It’s pricey, it’s risky, but given that they really don’t have any other options, they are forced to take the chance. The good news is as you can see from the below Promotional Photos, Will and Charlie finally do make it back to Los Angeles. But, the bad news is not all of the characters involved with their escape make it out alive, and we get to see firsthand how the Hosts deal with those who try to defy them and escape. It’s a pretty gross and disgusting scene, so brace yourselves.
While Will is fighting to get back home with Charlie, Bram (Alex Neustaedter) continues to fight for his life in the labor camp. Unfortunately, because he he looks so young and so green, he becomes the target for opportunists and thugs and quickly gets the crap beat out of him. However, in a very ironic twist, that beatdown causes him to cross paths with someone who may prove to be a valuable ally and the key for him to get out of the camp and return to his family. This is especially important given that Maddie (Amanda Righetti) and Nolan (Adrian Pasdar) have given no indication they will do anything more to help.
In the meantime, Jennifer’s (Kathleen Rose Perkins) work environment continues to get worse, with her tough-ass new boss, Dan Bennett (Christian Clemenson), turning the heat up even higher for her to deliver Broussard. Of course, Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies) is really telling Jennifer the truth in that she can’t meet her demands, and so, in a desperate attempt to get Jennifer to leave her alone, she throws her a bone and tells her about the drone bumble-bee the Resistance planted in Homeland. It’s a start, and it does score Jennifer a few points with Bennett, but in the end, it’s not enough. It’s Broussard or it’s her job.
The big question is what will Jennifer do. If Jennifer can’t deliver Broussard, will she deliver the next best thing which is Katie? Given that Will no longer has Proxy Snyder as an ally at Homeland, I wonder how much he can do now to protect his wife, which really puts the ball right back in Jennifer’s court.
Episode 2.03 of Colony is titled “Sublimation” and airs Thursday at 10/9c on USA.
