Warning: General spoilers ahead
Finally! That God-awful hiatus is almost over, and Wednesdays will be perfect once again.
Chicago P.D. is back tomorrow night, and as you probably can tell, I’m beyond thrilled. In this episode, while responding to a call of shots fired, Voight (Jason Beghe), Antonio (Jon Seda), Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and the team come across a secret battered woman’s shelter and discover the owner has been wounded and a resident of the shelter has been kidnapped. The team faces a challenge as the gunman is still at large and the identities of the women are kept confidential.
In the meantime, Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Roman (Brian Geraghty) go undercover to track down a man robbing people by catfishing them on a dating app and Lindsay (Sophia Bush) opens up to Halstead about her past.
As a lead-in to all three #OneChicago series and SVU returning from a near month-long hiatus, the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles hosted a spectacular event this past Saturday to pay tribute to one of the greatest television producers of all time, Dick Wolf. Besides Wolf, in attendance were Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Ice-T, Jason Beghe, Taylor Kinney, Jesse Spencer, Sophia Bush and Torrey DeVitto, all actors on one of Wolf’s 4 current dramas on NBC.
Sophia Bush gushed about her role as Erin Lindsey and emphasized how gratifying it is to play a strong woman on Chicago P.D. “It’s not an accident I play women who are strong and outspoken. I don’t know how to be anything but that. I like that my role conveys to young women that they can be the hero of their own story. It gives you purpose.” On a lighter note, Bush joked about her crossover colleagues on Chicago Fire, “If these were the firemen, I’d light s–t on fire all the time!”
It was also revealed at the event that #OneChicago will be getting a 4th installment and will be titled Chicago Justice. The 21st season 3 episode of Chicago P.D. will serve as a back-door pilot to the new series, will star Philip Winchester, and Wolf announced at the panel that Carl Weathers has also been added to the cast. “We start shooting the ‘Chicago Justice’ spinoff next week,” Wolf said. “It’s a real thrill to announce that the State’s Attorney for Cook County, which is the D.A. of Chicago, will be Carl Weathers. He’s quite an amazing presence. He looks remarkably good in a suit.”
Episode 3.18 of Chicago P.D. is titled “Kasual With A K” and airs Wednesday at 10/9c on NBC.
