Warning: Spoilers Ahead
Yes! The wait is finally over. As much as I love Christmas and the holidays, I couldn’t be more thrilled to be just 2 days away from the big 3-part #OneChicago crossover that everyone’s been buzzing about for well over a month.
When we left Chicago Fire last month before the winter hiatus, Hermann (David Eigenberg) was in some pretty dire straits. Stabbed by Freddie Clemente and left alone in the back room at Molly’s, he didn’t even have the strength to call out for help.
In the 1st part of the 3-episode #OneChicago crossover on Tuesday, Dawson and Otis find Hermann fairly quickly after making their way to the back for some supplies, but unfortunately, the poor guy is still in bad shape. Hermann lost a lot of blood, the knife punctured his liver, and he has some serious respiratory side affects from the multiple transfusions.
In the meantime, the hunt is on to find Freddie, both by the Chicago P.D. and by Cruz (Joe Minoso) who, of course, feels completely responsible for what has happened. Of course, it doesn’t help that Severide (Taylor Kinney) is a complete ass in this episode, rubbing the entire situation in Cruz’s face even though he’s already taking it pretty hard and goes out of his way to track down Freddie himself.
Even though Hermann remains in critical condition, Firehouse 51 still has a job to do, which means responding to a residential gas leak fire where they find a girl, Jessica Pope, in the basement unresponsive and with a plastic bag over her head. Concluding that this is a clear case of an attempted suicide, the doctors at Chicago Med believe Jessica remains unconscious because of gas and smoke inhalation. However, upon running further tests, they uncover something far more sinister.
Part 1 of the 3-part #OneChicago Crossover airs Tuesday with Chicago Fire at 9/8c on NBC. Meanwhile, check out the below video sneak peeks and cast interviews as they talk about this groundbreaking crossover event.
