Warning: Spoilers Ahead

As I had said in my interview with the cast, the return of Bitten for season 3 is in a way bittersweet for me. I’ve loved this show since day one, but it likely being the last season does put a damper on things. However, the good news is if the season 3 premiere is any indication of what we’re in for in these final episodes, I think we’re all heading for a hell of a ride. Buckle down, folks, because here we go!

So, what can I tell you about the premiere episode? Well, in one word: Wow. We literally hit the ground running, with non-stop action for the entire hour. I really don’t want to spoil anything, but here are a few teasers of what you have to look forward to when the episode airs tomorrow night:

• There is a character death before we’re barely out of the gate, and honestly, I didn’t see this one coming. It’s also the 2nd time this week that one of my favorite characters has been killed off, and I’ve had to throw everything at the television. It’s not a main character, but it’s one that I know fans like, and so, I have a feeling it’s going to be just as shocking and painful for everyone else as it was for me. On the upside, I do have a quick Q & A that I did with the actor/actress about their character’s demise and will be posting it as part of my review/recap of the episode tomorrow night.
• The death of this character really hits the pack hard, with Jeremy (Greg Bryk) being the most impacted. From the very beginning of the episode, our Alpha Wolf had already been acting like a dictator, taking out anyone who doesn’t do things on his terms. But, after this, the dude goes completely off the rails. I have a pretty high tolerance for gore on television, but some of the things Jeremy does, even I had to look away.
• We get to see Rachel and her baby, and as I mentioned in my interview with the cast, both will have a major part in the new season.
• We will have the return of an old foe, and one that has been a thorn in Jeremy’s side since the beginning. Unfortunately for the guy, Jeremy targets all of his rage towards him, and honestly, by the end of the episode, I felt sorry for the dude.
• We are introduced to a new group (actually, family) of werewolves that we haven’t seen before, and it’s not until the final scene that we learn the identity of its leader. I can’t, of course, say who he is, but I can give you this hint: It’s a blast from the past for Elena.

The season 3 premiere of Bitten  is titled “Family, Of Sorts” and airs Monday at 10/9c on Syfy.
