Warning: General spoilers ahead
Last week’s episode of 24:Legacy was one big emotional roller coaster ride. We had Amira’s father showing up, only to have him watch both of his children killed within an hour after his arrival. It was heart-wrenching to watch, and it’s made worse by the reality that the CTU has thus far failed in containing the terrorist attacks orchestrated by Jadalla Bin-Khalid. But, as is typical of “24,” going into tomorrow’s episode, nothing lets up — not even a bit — and so, hold onto the rails for another heart-racing, hour-long joyride.
As we learned at the end of last week’s episode, Carter (Corey Hawkins) gets the dreaded phone call from Jadalla that he has his wife and his brother, and unless he can find someone to repair the corrupt flash drive, both of them will die. So, as we see from the below Promo, Eric reaches out to the only person he knows who can pull it off — our sweet, but brilliant, Andy Shalowitz (Dan Bucatinsky). I guess it’s a good thing Andy got benched because otherwise, Eric most definitely would be SOL. Well, I suppose it’s good for Eric — not so much for Andy.
Elsewhere, as has been teased for months, this episode marks the first appearance of 24 alumnus, Carlos Bernard, reprising his role as Tony Almeida. Truth be told, I never watched the original 24 and so, I really didn’t know who this guy was. A big thanks to a couple of good friends who gave me a crash course on the character this weekend! CTU doesn’t have much luck with interrogating Henry Donovan (Gerald McRaney) and so, Rebecca (Miranda Otto) has no choice but to order “enhanced interrogation.” Almeida gets the call for the job, and he seems more than happy to help. We get a few hints as to why in tomorrow’s episode.
This is one fantastic, top-shelf episode, and I definitely don’t want to spoil anything more. So, here’s just a few more teasers:
Finally, I will say that Corey Hawkins and Dan Bucatinsky definitely steal the show in this episode. Wow times 10. Bucatinsky plays the role of the tech geek/walking nervous-breakdown perfectly. And, I’d know because I’m an Andy Shalowitz professionally (well, minus the hourly panic attacks). Then, Hawkins just continues to be the ultimate bad-ass, but at the same time, is still able to show his emotional side when confronted with the reality of his likely not seeing Nicole again. Kudos and plaudits to both of you!
Bottom line — tune in tomorrow night because this is an episode you definitely won’t want to miss. Also, I’ll be live-tweeting the episode during its east coast airing, as will a great deal of the cast like they do almost every week. 24:Legacy hasn’t been renewed for season 2 yet, and so, join us to show everyone — including FOX — how much you love the show!
Episode “6:00 PM – 7:00 PM” of 24:Legacy airs Monday at 8/7c on FOX.
