Warning: General spoilers ahead
There has been some fantastic talent come through SVU over the years, but truth be told, Peter Scanavino as Sonny Carisi has become one of my favorites. He’s smart, he’s dedicated, he’s true to the cause, and he’s just an all-around good guy. Of course, as soon as I decide he’s one of my favs and as would be my luck, his life is put in peril. Sigh.
In this week’s episode, Detective Carisi (Peter Scanavino) lives undercover at a homeless shelter to determine if one of its sex offender residents is the suspect in a string of neighborhood rapes. But, as the promotional photos and sneak peek videos show, Carisi’s life is on the line when he is suspected of the very crimes he is investigating.
Will Carisi make it out alive? I sure hope so. We’ve had somewhat of a revolving door of detectives as of late on the show, and it would be great if this one’s here for the long haul.
Episode 17.19 of Law & Order: SVU is titled “Sheltered Outcasts” and airs Wednesday at 9/8c on NBC.
