Hey, my Walking Dead peeps, remember Reg Monroe from The Walking Dead? Well, of course you do! How can anyone forget that season 5 finale with porch dick, Pete Anderson, slashing poor Reg’s throat in the final moments of the episode. Although we had to say good-bye to Reg, the good news is actor Steve Coulter has another steady gig in the Insidious horror film franchise, with the 3rd installment, Insidious: Chapter 3, set to premiere this Friday, June 5th.
If you are a Walking Dead fan, I strongly recommend you check this movie out because I think you’ll love it. The 1st two installments focused on the haunting of the Lamberts with certain members of the family being possessed by evil spirits of the dead. This 3rd part of the Insidious series is actually a prequel to the events surrounding the Lambert family and focuses on gifted psychic Elise Rainer (Lin Shaye) who reluctantly uses her talent to contact the dead in order to help Quinn Brenner, a teenage girl who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity. Steve Coulter reprises his role from the 2nd installment as Carl, a medium who had worked with and helped Elise in the past on several other cases including the original Lambert family case.
Insidious: Chapter 3 opens in theaters this Friday and also stars Leigh Whannell, Dermot Mulroney, Angus Sampson and Stefanie Scott. Check out the below trailer. And, yes, folks it’s OK to be scared. I have a pretty high tolerance for this stuff but I nearly jumped out of my chair after watching this clip!
Besides this film, Steve is also working on several other projects, including a film about the Nat Turner slave revolt titled Birth of a Nation as well as his recurring role as Elijah Bowman on Cinemax’s Banshee.
You can also catch Steve at Walker Stalker Con Orlando next month on June 27-28 as he makes his first appearance at a Walking Dead convention. If all goes as planned, I will be attending the convention as well, and so be sure to check back then for full coverage of the event.
