Warning: Spoilers Ahead
Okay, folks, we are at the season one fall finale, and this sh*t is about to get real. Oh, My. Freaking. God. In last week’s episode, super-nice guy DA Harvey Dent (Nicholas D’Agosto) had this brilliant idea of setting a trap for the Wayne killers by leaking the fact that they had a witness. Dent already had a good suspect, Dick Lovecraft, and so the plan was to simply leak the info and watch Lovecraft until he makes a move. Well, it appears from the below previews that the alleged fail-proof plan may end up backfiring.
In tomorrow’s fall finale, somehow Lovecraft (or whoever the real killer of the Waynes may be) figures out the witness to the murders is Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), and ends up kidnapping Selina as well as Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz). What’s more, Jim Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie) is about to have a complete meltdown when he discovers that Dent may have leaked a little bit more information than he should have, leading the killers straight to the doors of Wayne Manor.
I’m particularly excited about this episode because it appears we are going to get a couple of other unexpected treats. In my opinion, one of the most underrated characters in the series thus far has been Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee). So far, he’s been more of a peripheral character, chauffeuring Bruce around and not doing much else. Well, he steps up front and center in this episode, and what’s more, it appears he somewhat of a bad ass, sitting Fish Mooney’s (Jada Pinkett-Smith) big thugs down on their asses in a matter of seconds. Woo hoo, I love it! We also get a quick look at one of my favorite characters from the Batman movies and comics, Poison Ivy AKA “Ivy Pepper,” portrayed by Claire Foley. We don’t know much about this character in the series yet, except she may be sweet on Bruce and she scares the pants off Kat (which, we know, she should).
With all of this coming together at once, this is an episode that you definitely won’t want to miss. Episode 1.10 of Gotham is titled “Lovecraft” and airs tomorrow night at 8/7c on FOX.
