Wow, last week’s episode of Mr. Robot was one dense hour of television. Coming right on the heels of Gideon being gunned down in a bar, Romero is found dead in his mother’s basement which has Mobley and the rest of the gang freaking out and on high alert. In the meantime, dead set more than ever not to let Mr. Robot back into his head, Elliot begins self-medicating with Adderall — at least until Elliot learns that he has more in common with Ray than he had originally thought. And, just when you thought things couldn’t get worse, the episode ends with FBI Agent DiPierro following the breadcrumb of clues from Romero’s murder scene, which leads her to F Society and the arcade. Oops.
This past weekend, we were able to catch up and chat with the cast of Mr. Robot at San Diego Comic-Con in one of the most popular Press Rooms of the entire event. There, they opened up about what’s next for Elliot (Rami Malek), how Angela (Portia Doubleday) will handle the dilemma dumped in her lap by E Corp CEO Price and what her motivations might be, and how FSociety will handle the sh*tstorm coming their way by the name of Dominique DiPierro (Grace Gummer). One particularly interesting fact we learned is unlike the 1st season where the cast was getting scripts on a week-to-week basis, this season they’ve been given all the scripts upfront. And, for someone like Christian Slater who effectively plays Elliot’s “emotional baggage,” this has proven to be very helpful to get a sense of where the overall story is going.
