Warning: General spoilers ahead
FUBAR. If there is one term to describe the past couple episodes of 12 Monkeys and where we are as we head into tomorrow’s season 2 finale, I think that would be it. And, to be honest, I think F*cked Up Beyond Recognition might actually be an understatement. Dr. Jones (Barbara Sukowa) is killed in the temporal storms, and because Cole (Aaron Stanford) and Cassie (Amanda Schull) fail to stop the final paradox in 1957, she’s still very dead. And while Ramse , Deacon(Todd Stashwick), Whitley and Hannah do finally make it to Titan, Jennifer’s (Emily Hampshire) premonition that “Titan is death” is spot on, and all 4 are executed by acolytes of the Witness. Of course, this is while Cassie and Cole are playing house in 1958 after having resolved themselves that there is nothing else that can be done to stop the inevitable. Can’t get much worse than this.
So, is that it?! Obviously not since the show has been renewed for season 3 (yay!). But, then again, how in the world are they going to get out of this mess given that the final Primary has successfully been paradoxed? As I said in my interview with series star Todd Stashwick last week, things often aren’t as they seem on this show, and it’s not over til it’s over. Now, there’s not much I can reveal without spilling everything, but here are a few goodies that should hold you over for the next 24 hours.
So, get ready, folks! Stock up on those whiskey sours, do whatever it takes to manage your stress levels because trust me, come tomorrow night, you’ll definitely need it.
The season 2 finale of 12 Monkeys is titled “Memory of Tomorrow” and airs Monday at 9/8c on Syfy. Also, be sure to check back with the site after the East Coast airing for a full review and recap, as well as Part 2 of my exclusive interview with Todd Stashwick.
