Warning: Spoilers Ahead

Last week’s episode ended on somewhat of a high note (and, quite literally for Alison!), with Detective Deko calling off the dogs on Donnie (Kristian Bruun) and Mrs. S (Maria Doyle Kennedy) getting her pound of flesh for her mother’s murder by making sure Deko the Dick wouldn’t hurt anyone else again. Yay. The bad news is Deko is only a mouthpiece for the real threat which is Evie Cho (Jessalyn Wanlim) and her plan of widespread dissemination of the bot implants. That leads us into tonight’s season 4 penultimate episode which focuses on neutralizing Evie and attempting to get Project Leda back on track with the hopes of finding a cure.

With all the resources of Brightborn at her disposal, Evie Cho is a force to be reckoned with. However, when Team Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) discover that 2 women “escaped” from Brightborn during one of their precious clinical trials, they decide the best way to dethrone Evie is to find these women and convince them to expose Brightborn and all of their disgusting experiments using newborns as lab rats. But, obviously Evie will be thinking the same thing and no doubt will have her thugs tracking these women with the full intention of eliminating the threat. Can Sarah and Art (Kevin Hanchard) locate them in time?

Fortunately, the women are found, and one of them is persuaded to help take down Brightborn and Evie. In fact, she even has a video she took on her phone of Brightborn euthanizing a baby who had been born with severe facial deformities. Very damning stuff and more than enough to destroy Evie and her freaky plans. However, the shocking part is WHO leads the effort and HOW he/she manages to take Evie down.

But, this isn’t the best part of the episode, not even close. The punchline of the entire hour comes at the very end and in the final 30 seconds. So, don’t you dare touch that remote and switch the channel because that final scene you definitely won’t want to miss!

The season 4 penultimate episode of Orphan Black  is titled “The Mitigation of Competition” and airs tonight at 10/9c on BBC.
