At the end of last night’s episode, it seems that Eugene may have come through and found a solution for the Sanctuary’s walker problem. Unfortunately, if that’s the case, that also means we can expect Negan to keep his promise and rain shit down on Rick and Alexandria just as much as Rick did on the Sanctuary. Without a doubt, you can expect next Sunday’s mid-season finale to be super-intense and super-deadly.
Because this is going to be such a big episode, the media won’t be getting an advance screener, but with the promo photos just released by AMC this morning, we can already glean a lot. In particular, note that it seems we’re going to get a flashback back to the season premiere of Carl and Rick at the gas station. The big question is why would they do that? There is one rumor that has been circulating in the fandom of the shocking death of one particular character, a death that the vast majority of the fans is refusing to believe or accept. Well, either AMC is seriously yanking our chain, or these photos just made that theory even the more credible.
Regardless, get the bourbon and tissues ready, because I think we’re all going to need them come Sunday night.
The Walking Dead season 8 mid-season finale is titled “How It’s Gotta Be” and airs Sunday at 9/8c on AMC.
