When Syfy’s new Friday space drama triple-header began 2 weeks ago, I decided I would watch all three series for a couple of weeks, and then, decide on one to review on a weekly basis. After all, trying to cover 3 shows in one night, no matter how good they are, is a tad bit too much. There’s other things that ultimately take priority, you know, like sleep. Well, it wasn’t easy but I’ve decided on Dark Matter, and honestly, I haven’t been this excited about a ship-based show since Star Trek: The Next Generation premiered (yes, that long ago, folks!). I love the mystery, the characters are intriguing (and hilarious!), and there’s plenty of room for other interesting, secondary storylines to run on top of the main arc. Needless to say, I’m super-excited to see where this rag tag crew of the Raza takes us this season.
In tomorrow’s episode, when the ship mysteriously veers off course, suggestions of sabotage abound, fueling the onboard paranoia. A perilous spacewalk is required to bring the ship’s systems back online. Meanwhile, Five makes a shocking discovery.
