I don’t know about the rest of the viewers, but for me it seems like forever since the season 1 finale of Z Nation dropped the mother of all cliffhangers, leaving virtually all of our beloved characters in peril and fighting for their lives. Doc had been shot. Cassandra had been transformed into some kind of zombie hybrid with a missile heading straight for the compound she was in. Murphy’s condition continued to worsen, culminating with his shedding his skin and abandoning the group. And, things didn’t look good for poor Citizen Z with armed missiles heading for his North Pole outpost. Yikes!

We still have several months before the hit zombie series returns, but we are glad to report that production has officially begun on season 2. Not much is known yet on what to expect in the show’s sophomore season, but when I asked Executive Producer Karl Schaefer, he did offer this teaser:

Z Nation season 2 will be bigger, crazier, funnier and more dangerous. New characters, new zombies, and lots of new ways to kill em. The Apocalypse means never having to say you’re sorry.
