Warning: Spoilers ahead for those who have not seen “Episode Five”
After seeing the promo for tonight’s episode alone, we all knew it was going to be a good one. I mean, the ragtag crew of the Raza AND zombies, how could you go wrong? And, it *was* another fantastic episode with plenty of action and even better, lots of good info on our beloved characters.
Last week, we got some great intel on a handful of the characters — Two revealed as some kind of killer/assassin in her past life, Four pegged as an even more brutal and ruthless murderer, and of course, we got the motherload on One since we got to see the real Jace Corso. This continued in this week’s episode, with more shocking revelations and this time focusing on Two and Three.
As we saw in the sneak peek for the episode, when the crew boards the freighter ship they have been tasked to salvage, Two is taken by surprise by a raging cannibalistic freak and ends up getting bit. With the help of the Android, they discover the crew of the “dead” ship had gotten themselves mixed up with a project whose mission was to manufacture a drug that could potentially lead to immortality. However, the mission went terribly wrong, and instead of a serum for immortality, the outcome was one of the most deadliest viruses ever known, and unfortunately, it looked as if Two had been infected.
However, in a very unexpected turn, Two miraculously fights off the virus which had never been done, and what’s more, when she removes the bandage from her neck, the bite wound had completely healed — and with only a few hours having passed. What does this mean? Was Two some kind of super-human with an extraordinary immune system before any of this happened? Or, for some reason, did the immortality serum work on her?
Then, there’s Three. Man, did everyone else nearly fall out of their chair in that early scene which implied Three had hooked up with Two? My firsst thought — “No effin’ way!”. This had to be BS with Three making it look like he banged Two just to get a rise out of One. But, then that ending. Oh. My. God. Not only did they sleep together earlier, but when Two approaches Three again, he turns her down. And, this is coming from a guy who was making a pass at just about ever girl on that space station last week! What does this say about Three? Well, I don’t believe we’ll get the full story on Three for a few weeks, but I definitely think it’s safe to say he’s not as bad as some of the viewers thought he was.
But, even more, what does this say about Two? Think about it. That’s not a flattering image.
I screened this episode earlier in the week, and yesterday while at San Diego Comic-Con, I had the chance to chat with cast members Anthony Lemke, Melissa O’Neil, Jodelle Ferland, and Roger Cross about this game-changing episode. Check out what they had to say about the episode in the below video interview, as well as what we can expect in the next few weeks.
