One thing I have found after attending San Diego Comic-Con last weekend is while Prison Break may have been off the air for over 7 years, the fans have certainly not forgotten about the show. Sunday is supposed to be the day when SDCC really starts to wind down, but this year, everything was still going strong in Hall H Sunday afternoon for the Prison Break: 24 Legacy panel.
Besides a packed Hall H, another indicator of the show’s popularity could be seen across the street in the Hilton Bayfront for the 2-show combo Press Room. There, an incredible number of journalists packed into a small room to get all the deets on the return of 2 of the most legendary FOX shows. We had the chance to chat with series stars Wentworth Miller (“Michael Scofield”), Sarah Wayne Callies (“Dr. Sara Tancredi”), and Dominic Purcell (“Lincoln Burrows”) about the show’s popularity, the impact the 7-year time jump will have on the storylines and characters, and much more. Check out what they had to say in the below video interviews.
Prison Break follows Michael Scofield (Miller) as he tries to break his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Purcell) out of prison when he is sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit. Michael devises an elaborate plan to help Lincoln escape prison by getting incarcerated himself and breaking him out from the inside. Little do the brothers know that breaking out is just the beginning.
Prison Break will return for a 9-episode new season in early 2017.
